489th Crews, Planes and Boxes for my dad's first mission on May 18, 1944.

Here's the comment in the Tactical Diary for May 18, 1944 regarding my father's first mission: "Lt. Hastor is proving an excellent flight leader. Today, he and Scofield, our bombardier, teamed up to destroy a new target- a large railroad bridge at Viareggio. More new crews. Some of them were in Capt. Decker's squadron at Greenville. The boys are getting their beach time."
