This photo probably shows the 447th personnel and possibly the two generals around pilot Clyde Morganti's B-25 "Sylvester the Snarp" in September, 1943 when Lts. Morganti, Williams and Holloway ferried two generals from El Aquina to Palermo, Catania, Taranto and Brindisi on a secret mission.

Original Crew of Lt. Alfred Drury.
According to Drury, these were the fates of the soldiers pictured in this crew photo: Jake Muirhead was shot down and KIA, John Brisky was shot down and KIA in the Adriatic, Boyd survived being shot down twice- landing in friendly areas, Delore Monroe was KIA by Flak in flight, and Bob Crowell was shot down, captured and became a POW in Germany. Drury himself was shot down and captured over Chieti, Italy on December 2, 1943.
